DALLAS, May 23, 2016 — New Mexico District and Charter Schools to Receive Access to Istation’s Computer-Adaptive Formative Assessment

Istation, a leader in educational technology, has been awarded a statewide contract with the New Mexico Public Education Department. Under the terms of the agreement, Istation will provide its formative assessment — known as ISIP™ — to New Mexico district and charter school students in kindergarten–third grade. ISIP will be available in both English and Spanish.

Istation’s ISIP provides reliable data with frequent, age-appropriate measurement for students in prekindergarten–third grade. While adjusting to each student’s reading ability, the interactive assessment keeps developing readers engaged and provides educators with the data they need to help students grow.

“We are honored to be chosen as a partner with New Mexico public schools,” said Istation Chairman and CEO Richard H. Collins. “Students and teachers across New Mexico will now have access to technology that can assist teachers and help all students enhance their reading proficiency.”

Istation’s ISIP has been cited by the New Mexico Public Education Department as having several advantages. The Istation assessments will be provided at no cost to districts and charter schools. In addition, less time is taken away from instruction, as teachers do not administer the assessment individually. An entire class can be assessed in all measures in 30–40 minutes in a computer lab setting. Individually, the subtests range from approximately 3–10 minutes. Instant scoring results and a wealth of reports are available, including Lexile measures. Over 2,500 teacher-directed lessons are available to support teachers with targeted instruction.
