A New Research Study From Southern Methodist University Shows a Strong Correlation Between Istation's Reading Assessment Scores and Georgia Milestones' English Language Achievement Levels
DALLAS, September 12, 2016 (Marketwired) — Istation, a leading provider of e-learning solutions, reports a study linking student results on Istation assessments with achievement levels on the Georgia Milestones Assessment in English Language Arts for Levels 3 and 4.
The research, conducted by Southern Methodist University, compared Istation ISIP™ data and Georgia Milestones Assessment scores in the state of Georgia during the 2015-2016 school year. Reading test data was used from grades 3 through 6. The study found very strong correlations between ISIP and Georgia Milestones English language test scores across grade levels.
The study also provides the ISIP cut scores needed to predict the achievement level on the Georgia Milestones Assessment for Levels 3 and 4. The table below displays these cut scores:
“Istation understands the importance of providing teachers and administrators with actionable data to ensure ongoing progress-monitoring during and across academic years,” said Richard H. Collins, Istation Chairman and CEO. "It is great news that ISIP cut scores can now also be used to predict Georgia Milestones achievement levels.”
